You'll want to avoid direct sunlight to the chest area while you are healing. Sunlight may make scarred tissue discolored and more obvious.

You may experience numbness in the surrounding areas of the breast tissue, especially on or near the nipples after surgery. In most cases, this sensation dissipates after about a year.
